Los Angeles County Supervisor, Chair Pro Tem Hilda L. Solis Endorses Sara Hernandez for State Senate
"Sara is a proven leader who deeply understands the challenges our communities face. From housing and healthcare to education, jobs, and immigrant rights, she has consistently worked to ensure everyone has the tools they need to succeed.
As the daughter of farmworker rights advocates, Sara knows what it means to fight for fair treatment and basic human dignity. She has helped students navigate the DACA process, partnered with labor to build affordable housing, and brought good-paying jobs to the County and City of Los Angeles.
I’m proud to endorse Sara because she’s the only candidate who has delivered real, tangible results for this district. Whether as a classroom teacher, nonprofit founder, housing and environmental attorney, or now as a Community College trustee, Sara has always had the ganas, the drive and determination to uplift working families and vulnerable communities that have been overlooked for far too long.
There’s only one candidate who has been a tireless advocate for this district, and that’s Sara Hernandez. That’s why I’m proud to give her my full support.”
— Chair Pro Tem Hilda L. Solis, First District, LA County Board of Supervisors
For over two decades, Sara Hernandez has lived and worked in the 26th District. She has served as a public school teacher, led a nonprofit supporting low-income students, and practiced law to protect families from displacement and environmental harm. As a community college trustee, she has focused on expanding access to education and opportunity. Hernandez, who currently serves as a Trustee for the Los Angeles Community College District, expressed deep gratitude for the endorsement
“Supervisor Solis has long been a trailblazer for justice and a fierce advocate for equity in our region,” said Sara Hernandez. “Her leadership and commitment to uplifting underserved communities have inspired so many—including me. I’m honored to have her support and proud to carry forward the values we share: people-first leadership, community care, and a real commitment to equity and opportunity.”
“The challenges facing our communities are real, but so is our power to address them—together,” Hernandez added. “I’m running to make sure our government meets this moment with bold leadership and lasting solutions.”
With Supervisor Solis’s endorsement, Hernandez’s campaign continues to build momentum as she seeks to bring a new generation of leadership to Sacramento.
